ICYMI, yesterday Kim Kardashian shared a naked selfie, and it's safe to say that people lost their shit.
Some of these people happened to be celebrities – Bette Midler, Piers Morgan, and Chloe Grace Moretz.
And, naturally, Kim decided to clap back.
And it seems that amid the criticism around the photo, there are a lot of people on Kim's side.
Many people are suggesting that nobody would care half as much if it had been a man who'd posted the selfie.
If I was Kim Kardashian n had a body like that, I'd be posting nudes every morning. A man would b praised 4 that. Ppl it's only a human body
Let me put it this way: if Kim Kardashian were a man, everyone would have brushed the nude pic (CENSORED, may I add) aside.
If @KimKardashian was a man no one would still be talking. And furthermore.. if my body looked like hers i'd hella show it off too. Shut up.
And others are saying that when male celebrities get naked – whether in selfies or in movies – no one bats an eyelid.
Well, @KimKardashian posts a naked pic, the world judges, but if @justinbieber or a man does its cool, ironic its #WomensDay 🙄
And that there's a disconnect in the way we view and react to male and female celebrities.

Anybody who tries to say how a woman chooses to display their OWN body is wrong, is severely misinformed and misguided.
If a guy posts a shirtless picture, people say how "steamy" and "hot" it is. But if a woman chooses to do that, it's setting a bad example?
Another criticism is that Kim shouldn't be posting nude selfies because she's a mother.

But plenty of people think her role as a mother has nothing to do with her decision to share these images.
"But Kim has kids" no one mentioned Ben Affleck or Ryan Reynolds's kids when they were naked in their recent movies
Mainly on the basis that she can do what she wants with her body.
Shut up judging Kim K. Why does it matter that she's a mum? Mother + sexually active/confident are not mutually exclusive.
Kim's also come up against the accusation that she's only famous because she posts naked selfies.
Others don't think that's true.
And, after Kim completed her rant against other celebrities, she shared another nude photo alongside the caption: "#liberated"

And the fact she's confident with her body and feels liberated by sharing these images is another reason people are defending her posting them.
if being nude allows @KimKardashian to feel body confident and liberated let her be. Stop shaming girls who are confident within themselves.
It's also something Kim herself has spoken about in the past, explaining that she shares these kinds of selfies as an expression of confidence.
Speaking to Rolling Stone last year, Kim revealed: "I do shoots that are nude, and I don't want to say every girl, but all my girlfriends send me these sexy selfies of themselves, just being like, 'Oh, my God, I've been working out for two weeks — look at how good of shape I'm in.' Girls send them to each other. I don't want to say it's normal, but it's just what I've been used to. . . And I think it's part of the whole selfie phenomenon."
And went on to reveal that the male gaze doesn't factor in her decision to post nude selfies.
And, finally, let's face it: Kim has done a lot of nude shoots over the past year, but the reason probably has something to do with them being on her terms.
Good on @KimKardashian for getting naked on her terms! This is how we should see naked photos! Not stolen from icloud/phones!
Especially after this incident back in 2011, where a magazine betrayed her trust.
Never let it be said that Kim Kardashian doesn't know how to get people talking.
