ellarei a year agoI live in London, though I did not grow up here. When the riots came last summer I really saw for myself how this attitude really pervades in the English. After things kicked off, I’d prepared myself to be holed up at home after dark for a couple days, but my native friends after a single day were happy to carry on doing the things they always do - going to the pub, seeing movies, etc. It really impressed me, and it certainly helped the city go back to normal more quickly. In my own country, panic and paranoia would have gripped for days.
