Local news sucks donkey balls. And more than that—people who watch it regularly perceive their communities as significantly more dangerous and impoverished than they actually are. It's great for people who really enjoy their anxiety and paranoia, and for those who look forward to spending Saturday night at home behind barricaded doors with a gun for protection—or just for those people who like to go through life concentrating on the sick and sad side of human nature, to the exclusion of all else.
