I mean, would you want to see a natural gas company use concentration camps as a theme for advertisements? What about Incan or Aztec themes for a corporation introducing a new vaccine? Hmm, the mag is Belgian, so they're just mocking America as our media does to so many others. For instance, the Simpsons line about how a Belgian admits that he should be trusted as much as one can trust the word of a Belgian. Or how at Burning Man one year, a Belgian crew was mocked for their huge but pointless artwork which everyone just called “the Waffle”. Granted, Belgian bating goes back at least as far as Monty Python's “I can't think of anything more insulting (to call someone) than Belgian!” It's like a class clown, when your peers (kids or countries) only know you from your immature outbursts, better bad attention than none.

The ad did it's job didn't it? I mean it got everyone's attention. I, for one, had never heard of hugo magazine, but now i know what it is. Negative press is still press. If you want this to go away all you have to do is treat it like the shit it is and throw it away. Never talk about and just ignore it.
