Music Buzz Is it too soon to bestow upon Katy Perry’s chart-topping smash the desirable title of “song of the summer?” Sorry, Rihanna, three years in a row was an extraordinary feat, but it looks like 2008 introduced a new radio sweetheart to dominate beachside retreats. Although the song itself is the equivalent of an obnoxious drunk girl starved for attention, it’s hard to deny its catchy rock swagger. (Although if Katy reminds you of Alanis or Avril in their prime, it’s probably because she records with Glen Ballard and The Matrix, the producers behind those artists’ respective smashes.)
