1. Museum Studies

You can study degrees, certificates and masters programs in museum studies in almost every state in the US and almost every country, including a Digital Curation course at John Hopkins.

2. Science Writing

Do you have a cupboard full of yellow from all your National Geographic subscriptions?

Spend your days writing about the greatest discoveries. There are plenty of Creative Non Fiction Writing courses including graduate diplomas or full Masters programs available

3. Wildlife and Natural History Filmmaking

Is your hard drive full of docos? Do you wish you could get more people to care about important issues AND have a creative career?

Documentary Filmmaking courses are available, including the Centre for Science Communication's Master in Science and Natural History Filmmaking in New Zealand.

4. Crowdsourcing Science

Want to make scientific discoveries and contribute to research but don't want to work in an institution or be part of someone else's lab team?

There are now sites where people and companies post their scientific problems or unused patents and get people like you to solve them. There's often big money to win or shares in the final product.

Marblar is one such site, they have projects that need to be solved such as ' How to make computers hear like humans'.

Or check out InnoCentive, where they ask users to solve problems such as how to create low-cost rainwater storage systems and how to create alternative mosquito repellents.

So far they've awarded over more than $14 million to people who solve the challenges.

5. Science and Art

Do you see beauty in the natural and scientific world?

If you're interested in computing and technology and art, check out UCSD's Interdisciplinary Computing and Arts program. It's a bit of a mouthful to say but they create some awesome projects, like Doug Rosman's 'cinematic chamber'.

They also have the Arthur C. Clarke Centre for Human Imagination where they bring together the arts and science with fascinating projects.

6. Wildlife Management

So you did a zoology degree and ended up hanging out with drosophila flies instead of the hawks or coyotes or seals you wanted to study.

These courses provide a hands on approach to wildlife management, including travel abroad options, wildlife management in Tanzania or the Masters in Wildlife Management in New Zealand where you study animals such as the albatross, yellow-eyed penguin and sea lion.
