Yeah... The entire wizarding world was busy battling He Who Must Not Be Named to worry about sending you an acceptance letter. On second thought, maybe it's for the best that you didn't go.

That Voldemort Thing Happened

The letter addressed with _your name_ was accidentally sent to the wrong address, and a Muggle showed up to Platform Nine and Three Quarters on 1 September looking very confused. You just can't find good owls these days.
