@AustinWheeler in the FB comments You said: “then he announces his death on tv right away taking all the credit and ruining any other surprise attacks on high value targets in Pakistan.” This is one of the more idiotic attempts at trying to blame Obama I’ve ever read. Use some common sense before you make claims like this. The possibility of an immediate “surprise attack” on any other high value targets went out the window the moment the raid was launched. First of all, assuming contacts weren’t informed of the raid during the raid (likely given that bin Laden and his aides had cell phones), the Pakistani government (who were pissed about the raid) and the ISI (who were directly aiding bin Laden) would have immediately leaked information about it anyway. Moreover, even if the ISI randomly decided to help the US carry out a cover-up and even if no one in the compound made any outside contact during the raid, other people in contact with bin Laden in Abbottabad would probably have been immediately tipped off by the smoldering wreckage of the Black Hawk helicopter we left on his lawn. And even if, amazingly, every complicit local was blind and/or the intellectual equivalent of a brain-damaged chicken, people in contact with bin Laden would have very quickly noticed that he had vanished after local reports of gunfire at the location of his compound. Any other “surprise attacks” would have had to have been virtually simultaneous. Of course, there were no other “surprise attacks” planned. That is just something you pulled out of your ass because you are desperate to blame Obama for something. And finally, Obama didn’t take “all the credit” for the operation. In fact, he said: “Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counterterrorism professionals who’ve worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice. We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day.”
