    Meet My Favorite Customer Ever

Bob has never bought anything from my company, but that doesn't mean he's not an incredible customer. A story of clip art, true love, and Amazonian Giant Frogs.

As a self-identified misanthrope, I never thought I'd find myself working in customer service. Of course, I never thought a job in customer service would be as fun as my job can be. I work for a company called EarthSeaWarrior, an eclectic art boutique based in Brooklyn, New York.

Working for a small business, I get to have really personal interactions with everyone who shops with us. We get custom inquiries pretty frequently, but a few weeks ago we got a very unique request. I'd like to introduce you to Bob.

It seemed like Bob was trying to weird us out by attaching a custom request to this item. I wrote an offhand reply calling him a strange man, not expecting a response, and was baffled to hear back very quickly.

Clearly Bob's priority was not on buying our products. It seemed at this point that it was probably a waste of time to invest in continuing the correspondence. And yet, there was something compelling me to write back to Bob and follow where this was going.

I didn't realize that Bob was on a deeper level than I could even comprehend. He was on some Jaden Smith level stuff.

I needed to know more about this man and his unusual perspective. I needed to know his hopes and dreams. But I also needed to keep my boss from getting suspicious about why I was spending time contacting this guy. So I replied again under the guise of product promotion.

Bob responded by telling me about a dilemma he was facing.

Dear reader, I didn't know what to say. I'm just a customer service rep, my talents lie in the sphere of helping people buy things. Matters of the heart have never been my thing, and this seems like a sensitive issue.

So I thought, who better to answer a question than strangers on the internet? If you're reading this and you want to help out a questioning soul, pick one of the four options and leave a comment below, and I'll pass your advice on to my good friend!

    Until next time,
