When I was in grade school I was the only white kid or one of few in a lot of my classes. I thought I had it bad because anything I liked was “weird white kid stuff” and because everybody else seemed a lot closer to each other. Then I went to college and got to see what minority black students go through (see the above article). Man, that made my problems seem trivial. Felt pretty good, though, to know I asked all the dumb questions when I was like 6 years old. (e.g. #7,8,24) Kids do that kind of stuff, but it’s really unbecoming to see it with a 20 year old “sociology” major.
