      There is no sensible policy justification for the changes to the Violence Against Women Act. I’ve had some experience with VAWA cases, seen pictures and read police reports, and know first hand that the old VAWA saves lives. The House Republicans are in essence putting the lives of thousands of women at risk, they say because there is fraud in the system. I’ve never seen an instance of fraud. I’ve seen pictures of women with black eyes, police reports, and have witnessed women regain their lives because they were protected by VAWA. Those women are now being cast out to sea and left to fend for themselves. And it makes no effing sense whatsoever.
