Adam Laceky a year agoIt could also be because the rune equivalent of “Y” looked a lot like the “thorn” rune with the top cut off. Looked a lot like a “P”, but was equivalent to the European “J”, which sounds like an English initial Y. In other words, it might have been a mistransliteration of “THE” into “YE”. Not so much a typographical compromise as a mistake. But, the video might also be right. What do I know?
