therblig a year agoon the flapper link, about 20 years ago, ms. blig worked as a researcher on a book about Muriel Ostriche, who worked in silent films (over 130 of them) from 1912 - 1920’s. in addition to her filmwork, muriel was also the original “Moxie” girl. The book was written by Q. David Bowers (actually a well known coin dealer from new hampshire) and is called “Muriel Ostriche: Princess of Silent Films”. muriel lived to be 92 and died in FL. at the time she was working, a big part of the american film industry was actually located in Fort Lee, NJ. in fact, the “Perils of Pauline” (not muriel) films were made along the NJ palisades.
