So much misinformation in this post. Girls with crooked teeth in Japan are known as yaeba and it’s generally used as a positive descriptor. That, in itself, is not a procedure. It’s finding a girl’s imperfections to be cute or attractive. Braces aren’t really a thing in Japan the way they are in the west. Combine this with the fact that many Japanese girls have jaws too small for their teeth to grow properly, and Japan’s wonderful ability to fetishize anything, and you have yaeba. As for the procedure shown, it has little to do with any of that. It’s simply capping the canines to make them more pronounced because, like yaeba, these fang-like canines are seen as cute. They’re not making the teeth crooked though. It’s more akin to replicating the fanged-type smile you see in various animes (like in said picture). Saying they’re going to the dentist to intentionally fuck up their teeth is grossly misinformed though.
