When it comes to dead loved ones, super heroes sure are gullible.

In the real world, when a loved one dies under tragic or mysterious circumstances, you get therapy. When it happens in comic book land, you don a mask, bury your pain and kick in the teeth of the nearest villain. But all that guilt and self-loathing creates a wedge for the wrong person to exploit, as seems to be the case in Justice League #12.

While the cover image of Wonder Woman and Superman locked in a kiss stunned the comic world last week, it doesn’t appear to be the main focus of the actual issue.
