I just returned from the Masai Mara in Kenya and had close contact with several lion prides, including the male lions. We came in contact with a lion that had a very similar wound over his right eye. He seemed to be healing well, content, well fed, and then proceeded to have sex with a female in heat. He seem to be on top of his game.
