New Species Named After "Star Wars" Jedi

Discovered on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge between Iceland and the Azores, the Purple Yoda is a species of acorn worm. It lives over one and half miles beneath the ocean’s surface.
Scientists named it after the Star Wars character when they realized the its floppy appendages reminded them of Yoda’s ears.
