#5 is not the new cloud type. Those are mammatus clouds and have been recognized for decades as being related to tornadic supercell thunderstorms. They're called mammatus because they tend to resemble…well…you can probably guess…

I saw these in 2004 and they were orange because it was at sunset. Pretty cool. But new? Clouds have been around since forever. I don't think they are new. Rare but not new.

I find a more appropriate title for these formations to be “HDR clouds.”

I believe this is also called a Ghostbusters/Zuul formation
