saw this posted right after. titled “fuck rebuilding, lets move back 200ft and take a pic”
During the time I spent living in Japan, from constructing buildings to roadworks, they get things done. Even if it means working around the clock while everyone else is sleeping, they’ll still be working until it’s finished.
Okay, impressive, obviously, but we’re not actually seeing the same stretch of road. Look at the trees and the street sign, they’re still doing work (note the large yellow machines) at the site of the first picture.
Still, it takes my government a year to even decide to do work, so props to the Japanese.
Never underestimate the Japanese ability to quickly rebuild after a disaster. I mean look at the Godzilla movies, they usually come about two years apart and every time he takes a vacation from his 9/5 job on Monster Island Godzilla goes on the same destructive rampage through Tokyo. Every building he knocked over the last time is back up and ready to be knocked over again when he comes strolling through.
