bighungrysteve a year agoIt beggars belief how when Muslims carry out acts of terrorism they are criticised for their religion and Islam gets smeared as a religion of hatred, that all Muslims are like this etc. When Anders Breivik, a self-avowed Christian who has consorted with far-right British groups such as the EDL and BNP carries out an act of terrorism, he is called a ‘lone wolf’ and is passed off a ‘not really a Christian’. If it is too much of a cognitive leap for people to believe that ‘real Christians’ have the capability and the motivation carry out acts of terrorism, then might it be worth applying the same logic to ‘Muslim’ terrorists? Either that, or going the other way and just accepting that every religion is likely to beget it’s fair share of muderous xenophobes.
