SquiggleOs 2 years agoI couldn’t agree more with edgerrton. Would you even remember this mother if there wasn’t a photo showing her story? Take your sadness and remember Japan, pray for them, think of them, and don’t forget. Forgetting is the worst thing you can do.

edgerrton 2 years agoThis is definitely a very heartbreaking photograph however I don’t think it’s right to say that the photographer is wrong for taking the picture. It is the job of the photographer to visually bring stories to the public no matter how terrible it may be. Photographs carry a much greater impact than words do and because of this I think it is good that this picture was taken.

Pointypartyhat 2 years agoI did not mean to click “trashy” although it does seem odd that someone would take a picture of this. I certainly wouldn’t want someone taking a picture of my family in that situation.
