Spider-Man is dead. Long live Spider-Man. Apparently diversity is all fine and dandy until Marvel actually implements it.
Meet Miles Morales
This is who has Comic Book Racists up in arms.
In the June issue of Ultimate Spider-Man (which by the way is an ALTERNATE REALITY of the Spider-Man universe) Peter Parker died. Like “died” died. Or as dead as folks can get in comic book lore.
So along comes Miles Morales, a half-Latino half-Black teenager who personally knew Parker. And he puts on the Spider-Man suit. So the bad guys don’t know Spidey is dead. Even though he kind of feels like a fraud.
But story development pales in comparison to the sacrilege of his dark skin?
I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.

Villain a year agoI don’t believe Marvel said, they were killing him off to create diversity…and to be completely honest, I doubt if any of these people are actually avid comic readers…They are just looking for a reason to complain and pile on Most people I know, who are into comics…like the idea or are simply indifferent to it…

shitfuckdelrio a year agoWhat’s really funny that in #7 as the guy’s talking about a black Iron Man - they did that already. Like, in the 80’s. James Rhodes took over the title for a pretty long period of time, and still has a successful spin-off as War Machine. /nitpick

Jessica S. a year agoSome of these people are saying that diversity for the sake of diversity is stupid and they don’t give a fuck either way if he’s black or not. I don’t know where everyone got that he would be gay but that was never announced. Someone’s just trying to drum up controversy.
