Don Bowles 7 months agoThis article is really trying to make this seem like some sort of dangerous epidemic. I think there’s enough room in the music world for Amanda to do things her way without it totally destroying the music industry as we know it. Seriously, this is ridiculous. She’s not wealthy, she’s stated in many interviews how many loans she’s had to take out and how much debt she’s gotten into time and time again in order to make her music. And like another poster stated, she’s not taking these volunteers on tour with her. Her intentions are more humble and noble than most successful musicians out there. And, knowing her fans, they wouldn’t accept her money. No one cares about the money. It’s about bonding with her fans. They’re there to create music, and share in a one-of-a-kind experience. That’s worth more than anything. And fans don’t want to see random union musicians up on that stage that don’t care about her culture and will play whatever as long as they’re paid. That’s not punk cabaret.
