3 Very Good Reasons Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda Is The Best Book Of 2015

This book is a holy freaking huge awesome deal, okaaaaaay?

With 2015 coming to an end, you've probably come across one too many "Best Of" lists in the last month or so.

Well, let me tell you that THIS list right here? This is the end-all-be-all of any "Best Of" list you'll see during this end-of-year listing extravaganza. Why, you ask?

Because it features (in my professional opinion, of course), the BEST book of the year, hands down.

That title, of course, belongs to Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli.

More in-depth synopses/reviews of Simon are here, but most people (a.k.a Me) will shout their love for it for these not-really-spoliery reasons:

Reason #1: Simon Spier (you guessed it, the protagonist!) is so freaking adorkably relatable it'll make you smile. He's got a virtual crush, is a stickler for good grammar, and has a healthy-in-all-the-wrong-ways obsession with Oreos.

Also, he dresses up as a dementor for Halloween.

    Reason #2: This book is a genre-bending masterpiece. Seriously, it's a coming-of-age contemporary/romantic comedy/mystery all at once.

The romance between Simon and his cyber crush, known only as "Blue", unfolds in a series of emails that are feels-inducing and marked by the occasional typo. "Suck a good guess," anyone?

The mystery of Blue's identity is a juicy one, with about three of four convincing suspects throughout the book. But once he's revealed....

Reason #3: Simon is a crusader for social injustice. Whether it be the not-so-serious kind...

...Or something that should've been said a long time ago but no one could find the perfect words until Simon came along.

So, there you have it: The BEST Book of 2015, for reasons that are incredibly biased but also incredibly true. Now grab some Oreos, get to reading, and make this your Best Book of the Year, too.
