Well, ironically enough, by posting the video on a viral-focused site with the intention of having people look at it, and thus, assuring that it will spread, you're actually partially responsible for its existence. You don't like it, stop posting them. Any attention is publicity. No attention is the only thing that will cut off income to the talentless.

  • I agree that people are assholes. But here's the thing - this post appears to be eliciting a lot of ire.  This isn't a contribution from an outside source…this is one of Buzzfeed's own, and it is a compilation of pictures, without consent of the subjects, intended to show people she believes to be ugly. Amanda is being an asshole by your very definition of 'asshole.'  Someone who posted her picture earlier, without her consent, calling her ugly, was removed due to bad taste. Which I also agree with, but by that logic, Amanda's entire contribution should be removed.

  • Right, but this is the internet we're talking about. This is a comment section. Either the author of the post recognizes the kinds of things people write in comment sections and can deal, or they probably don't belong contributing material to sites where comments are allowed.  People are assholes, and there is no controlling them, unless you edit the comment section. An exercise in futility when most commenters are simply spouting off the first thing that comes to their brains, anonymously. I also think this particular post is in terrible taste, and I can't think of a single positive or constructive thing to say about it. If I felt there were some effort involved in the writing…that this was the output of someone who had at least done research and thought through valid points that offered some insight into anything whatsoever. She slapped pictures and comments down, essentially calling the men in the pictures ugly, and did it in a public forum. I don't really see a cause to defend the author.

  • @Turtlefeed: Well, actually this post is very mean-spirited off the bat, so to expect nothing but sunshine is really naive. “Married to a toad” is pretty harsh. Malicious begets malicious. And moreover, why does this deserve “Constructive”? The work put into it appears minimal…google images and captions. This isn't an 8th grade art project your kid spent all night working on! Welcome to the internet. Shitty things + Comment sections = shitty things.

  • Outrage? That Bonnie and Clyde and the Maltese Falcon didn't win? Those movies were MEDIOCRE. And not even remotely as good as the films that won. Bonnie and Clyde was better than In the Heat of the Night? Are you kidding me?  Wow…most of these are just mediocre movies (Subjective opinion!) Worst taste ever. The Big Chill? Amanda, if you are actually outraged that the Big Chill and Beauty and the Beast didn't win an Oscar, I think you have a very misguided outrage function.

  • Fine, well he's neither a terrorist nor a teabagger. I'm totally fine with that. (Though, technically speaking…if you believe his letter was meant to be use in conjunction with the crash - as a means to spread an ideology using violence…that's terrorism, yo!) Thanks for the shoutout, though!

  • @Lefty It's inaccurate. You don't have to classify him as anything, but classifying him as the wrong thing is a worthless venture, especially when people who have no interest reading his actual manifesto but read this site will go around propagating a falsehood should they feel like being a part of something 'topical'. What makes him a teabagger? Do you know what one is? If you're comfortable calling someone something they aren't, go ahead. But you're wrong.

    Djfreshie

  • @ Lefty:  No one's arguing that he's not a terrorist. If you'd read the manifesto, you'd know his anger isn't directed towards paying taxes. It's anger towards the laws regulating them. He never states anything remotely near “I hate taxes so I'm flying this plane into the IRS.” In fact he clearly explains everything in the letter. Misguided though it may be, it has nothing to do with being a teabagger.

  • Agree with Drew C. His argument bears little semblance to anything Tea Party or Bagging related.  Labelling him a teabagging terrorist is wildly inaccurate. He is not anti-taxation. He is a terrorist so you're half right. Lefty gets a star for posting something wrong? Come on. Fine. He was a keyboard cat three wolf moon T-shirt Terrorist. Where's my fucking star?

  • Response to Radiohead Sucks:

@ Sh3rpa - Stating opinion as fact is stupid, true. But stating opinion without expecting a defense is just as idiotic. The art we like becomes part of our character wardrobe. When I say your ugly shirt is ugly, you'll probably try and defend it. If I say the band you like is shit, I can expect the same thing. It's why it's stupid to go around telling people the shit they like is shit, unless you plan on having an open, grown-up, intelligent discourse using objective evidence to validate your stance. Boring, annoying, and Depressive are extremely subjective. So anyone who likes the thing you're using subjective terms to qualify is going to probably get upset. This isn't a defence of fans who get overly hyperbolic and upset towards criticism. But if you want to be whiny subjective dick about things people like, then you deserve whatever reaction you get.

  • Response to Radiohead Sucks:

Wow, if it's being honest, then it's terrible. Because in no way, shape or form, at any time in the poorly written piece, does it explain why Radiohead Blows. I guess depends on your definition of “blow.” As far as I know, it means 'to suck.' So if the truth to the myth is that the band sucks, he never actually proves it. Meanwhile, if it's satire, it is just plain awful. What is it satirizing? It doesn't make any sense. The only reason I think it could be satire is because it's SO badly written it's hard to believe it's serious. For an example of good satire,
