Your Favorite Disney Characters Are Being Turned Into Grotesque Skinny Minnies

Barneys New York is collaborating with Disney on a new Christmas campaign called "Electric Holiday". Your favorite childhood characters are now reduced to chic, walking toothpicks.

Imagine this: Minnie Mouse is dreaming of working the runway at a fabulous Paris fashion show, when all of a sudden she finds herself at the most exclusive runway show in town, strutting her tail down the catwalk like the fierce mouse she is.

On that "exclusive" catwalk, we see Minnie Mouse reduced to a pair of walking toothpicks, looking ridiculously freakish, but dressed in a beautiful pink and red Lanvin dress. We also see Daisy Duck, who is no longer that plump little duckling we remember her as. She now resembles a trampy anorexic flamingo, clad in a micro dress by Dolce & Gabbana that's so short we can almost see her English muffin. Goofy, covered from head to toe in Balmain, has obviously been hanging out in Williamsburg too much because he now looks like every guy waiting for the L train at the Bedford stop. Yes, these are your favorite Disney characters imagined by the folks at Barneys New York.

Dennis Freedman, Creative Director for Barneys, says of the collaboration, “The standard Minnie Mouse will not look so good in a Lanvin dress. There was a real moment of silence, because these characters don’t change. If we’re going to make this work, we have to have a 5-foot-11 Minnie. When you see Goofy, Minnie and Mickey, they are runway models.”

Good luck explaining the Slim-Fast versions of Minnie, Daisy, and Goofy to your kids this Christmas!
