Man, it took him a long time to restrain and cuff that lady. Incompetent. She wasn’t exactly a martial artist.

And seriously, ladies, Screeching, cursing, and flailing isn’t going to change anyone’s mind about whether to let you go on a jaywalking charge.

What a stupid girl! And why on earth were all those people telling him he was in the wrong? She must have been fighting him a while before this because they all started to video tape it…  What do people expect when you resist arrest and shove a cop?

People go beating up on a cop and they seem so surprised when the cops fight back. I’m glad Mr. “Are you Serious??” recorded this, it shows he didnt do it out of the blue

Thank you for not sensationalizing (lying) about what really happened. Although I hate to see a woman punched, the cop was completely justified in his actions. As far as the original offense of jaywalking…it does get enforced occasionally and this intersection seemed a tad busy for that, plus you can see a pedestrian foot bridge in the background..so why not use it? I’d bet anything the cop was just going to lecture them about being careful and the girls threw a hissy fit.

I’m going to really step out of my usual bounds here and support the cop’s decision to whack her. The intensity of the situation escalates so quickly when the pink shirted woman gets involved that the officer probably felt quite endangered- especially being alone. How stupid can you be to resist arrest? Fight in the courts, not on the streets.

While I don’t like seeing a woman in the face, if you go shove a cop, there is going to be some reaction back.

I guess to make front page you have to sensationalize the story. This post was put up 18 hours ago but the one that was put up 2 hours ago that said “Cop Punches Woman For Jaywalking” is the one getting all the fame on the fp.

… she was resisting arrest and the second girl came in and tried to help her resist. They were both pushing and shoving the cop. Seriously… what do you expect to happen?

That’s what happens when you put your hands on a cop, lady.
