Dear Canadian -
Wow, thanks for your input! You’re right, us Southerners are so dumb for this to happen in 2” of snow (really just solid ice). I’ll tell that to the people stuck in complete gridlock on highways for 12+ hours and either abandoning their cars or, worse, sleeping in them all night…in freezing weather (no food, no bathroom, running out of gas from sitting so long). Those who abandoned either walked upwards of 7 miles home or slept in a CVS or Publix. I’ll also tell that to the parents who couldn’t get to their kids b/c the buses had to turn around and go back to the school b/c everyone kept sliding off the road, those kids had to sleep AT SCHOOL. Most of them are just now getting home so I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to hear your thoughts.
Sincerely, a resident of Atlanta, a city that gets winter weather approx once every 4 years and are neither equipped or well prepared for ANY amount of ice or snow.
PS - most of us live here b/c living in winter weather a lot of the time is not our cup of [sweet] tea.
