A Teenager Got Drunk, Fell Asleep In A Taxi, And Ended Up Crashing At The Driver's Place

Eighteen-year-old Mike Allison said, "Still being drunk, I thought it was still quite funny and it hadn't hit home that I wasn't entirely sure where I was."

After a night out for a friend's birthday in Deansgate, Manchester, earlier this month, 18-year-old A-level student Mike Allison ended up falling asleep while going home in a taxi.

When the taxi driver found the sleeping teen in the back of the minibus taxi, he took pity on him, and invited him inside to his house.

Allison uploaded a picture to his Twitter profile, explaining that he was watching Take Me Out with his new pal. The picture then went viral.

Fell asleep in the taxi and none woke me up. Now I'm back at the taxi man's house in Stretford watching take me out

Allison told BuzzFeed News how his night panned out that way.

"When we got back to where we were all staying, everyone got off the minibus, but none of my mates checked if I had got off it," he said. "I was asleep, head in my knees, hunched over, on the far back left side of the taxi, so the driver couldn't see me.

"So the taxi driver starts driving home around 4am, and I wake up in Stretford around 4:30am by hearing the sound of the engine stop.

"As you would expect I shat myself! I looked around and couldn't see anyone, and so thought one of my drinks had been spiked and that I had been kidnapped or something."

He also posted a picture of Take Me Out on the TV screen to prove to a friend that this was all really happening.

He said it would be £50 to take me home, and, to be honest, I couldn't be arsed paying that. So I called everyone in my contacts with a car, but no one answered. The taxi driver said that I should come into his house as it was cold outside and he wanted to lock up the taxi.
And it hadn't hit home that I wasn't entirely sure where I was, without a lift home and without anyone knowing I was missing yet. I don't want to make the driver look like a weirdo though, because he was very helpful after I messed up. So I go into his house, and he offers me a brew and some food. I stayed there for about an hour watching Take Me Out.Then I managed to sort a lift home, but the taxi driver didn't want to give me his address, so he tells me where the local school is, and tells me to meet my lift there. Long story short, my phone runs out of battery trying to find my lift back, and I couldn't find my lift for about two more hours, so I was waking around Stretford between 5:30 and 8am trying to find my lift.

"The moral of the story is: Don't fall asleep in taxis!"
