Davine S. a year ago#3 makes me more angry than anything else. The “juices flow” whether a woman WANTS THEM TO OR NOT, DICKHEAD. The misinformation that women will remain physically *dry* in the event of a rape is utter bullshit and it’s a downright dangerous to even imply it. In many cases, the body produces lubrication as an act of self-preservation, even if the physical contact is unwanted - sometimes even before it begins. Women have to deal not only with the shame and horror of the assault, but also the embarrassment that stems from how their body seemed physically “open to it”. It is one of the cruelest tricks our biology can play on us, and it forms a centrepiece of the reason why rapes often go unreported. Self-blame; guilt; confusion; wishing the memory would go away; feeling that the aggressor will be believed over the victim… is it any wonder rapes are so unreported? And then FUCKING ASSHOLES like this guy Alridge are perpetuating the witch-hunt lies that cause women to remain silent. I can’t even think of a way to end this comment except that I am so disappointed in human beings right now.
