This "Schoolhouse Rock" Sketch On "SNL" Shows Just How Messed Up Our Government Is

Just like in the original Schoolhouse Rock, the folksy Bill sings a cheesy song to helpfully explain the workings of government to a curious young boy — right until it gets shoved down the steps of Congress by President Obama.

The President takes his chance to explain how Washington really works, with executive orders making for a convenient way to bypass a gridlocked Congress.

"Wait a second, don't you have to go through Congress at some point?"

"Aw, that's adorable, you still think that's how government works."

The Bill tries, and fails, to stand its ground.
