This Is What $350,000 Will Buy You In Crazy-Ass Expensive San Francisco

Spoiler: it's a shack.

Thinking of moving to San Francisco to make it big in the tech industry?

Maybe you'll live in one of the Painted Ladies homes and live out your Full House fantasies?

Well, here's what $350,000 will buy you currently on San Francisco's red hot, out of control, ha-ha-you'll-never-be-able-to-afford-anything real estate market.

Located in the city's Outer Mission district, this, um, house with two bedrooms and one bathroom has been vacant for eight years. But be warned: "The home is barely standing," according to real estate agent Brian Tran.

"The picture pretty much sums up everything. What you see is what you get," Tran told BuzzFeed News. "When you're looking at a home in San Francisco, it's really the land value we're talking about, though."

San Francisco is in the middle of a housing affordability crisis. According to the California Association of Realtors, only one in five households can afford the cost of the median home in the Bay Area (roughly $804,000).

Citing the need for "aggressive leadership" to tackle the crisis, Mayor Ed Lee wants to build or renovate 10,000 units for low and middle income families by 2020.

Tran said the market in San Francisco is "hot" because of the spillover from nearby Silicon Valley, as well as the city's lifestyle and beauty.

"San Francisco has become an international city," he said. "It's always been a beautiful place to live and visit, but I think the tech industry is driving that surge."

Although he can't predict with accuracy what the house will eventually sell for, Tran said he's had plenty of interest.
