it’s not funny because they’re fat (if it had just been the woman if front by herself, it wouldn’t have been funny), it’s funny because of the train aspect. a big woman in a hoverround pulling a big woman in a regular wheelchair is hilarious. and the flipping of the bird is just icing on the cake. but the people in the car are assholes.

perspective is a funny thing. with respect to the severity of the problem, the reason this is funny is because of movies like the nutty professor, shallow hal or any other movie that uses obesity as a tool for humor. sure it’s sad they’re at that state, but sometimes, funny is as funny does, regardless of context.

Woooooo, pious self-righteous snap judgments and public ridicule are definitely the solution here! Fingers out, laughs up, let’s go guys, we’re solving things! Wait…what?

While it’s not nice to make fun of people based on their physical appearance, I can’t believe people still excuse obesity as a disorder. It’s a choice. Don’t you agree that it is a choice for someone to shoot up heroin when they want to ‘escape’? They sure don’t have to. I know it is not always easy to deal with deep-rooted issues, and we all deal with things the wrong way from time to time, but these women are in motorized carts because they chose not to take care of themselves. Yes, that is sad. What we really should be worried about in the United States is the fact that nobody wants to take personal responsibility for anything.

Okay I thought and now I have something to say. This video doesn’t reveal much, so there’s a chance people are laughing at one or two people who are disabled who just happen to also be fat. One is using a wheelchair. Not definite proof but pointing in that direction.

Judgmental, rude, just generally awful. You can say what you’d like about these people (although really, no one laughing is considering that they’re PEOPLE) but everyone should just be so thankful that their problems might not be so obvious.
This may be embarrassing for them, but at the end of the day, I’d rather be humiliated than an evil, shallow asshole. Your weight doesn’t really say anything about who you are as a person, despite what some may think. Filming something like this (especially for this purpose), however, makes it abundantly clear that you’re inhumane in the worst way.

Obscenity is such a problem in this country because 1. We’re that fortunate and 2. people label it a disability, excusing idiots with little to no self control to eat themselves into oblivion. Really, the best thing we can do is laugh. Maybe there should be some shame involved for people who refuse to take care of themselves. I have never stood behind a fat woman in an electric cart at Wal-Mart full of carrots in her basket. It’s always TV Dinners and something made by Little Debbie. I get tired of self-glorifying, politically correct douche bags trying to make the rest of us feel there’s something wrong with us for laughing at things like this.

Public shaming is the only way to correct years of obesity. I read that in a book somewhere.
