alexf25 11 months agoI’m moving to Canada because I’m in love with my husband who currently is working there and will be the primary bread winner, the medical benefits will be something that will take time for me to get but because he works he will pay a nonminal fee for medical insurance for other benefits such as eye insurance dental and so on….I have been paying so much money in medical benefits that I’ve gone without many medications or appointments because I can’t afford it now when I’m living there I know I’ll be covered wether or not my husband has a job or not.. that’s a blessing

I feel bad for Canadians who are probably living in fear of the impending conservative swarm. I’d rather put them all on a deserted island somewhere. Actually, better idea….all of the people in America that have half a fucking brain can move to Canada and the dumbasses can stay where they are in their rebel flag themed living room on their stained, sunken in couches eating pork rinds and bitching about Obamacare.

celiaahk 11 months agoI’m sure they’ll enjoy the health care, but just wait ‘til these new expats find out about paying taxes to two countries (which they must if they want to keep their U.S. citizenship), filing the U.S.’s FBAR on all their money in Canadian banks, and the elaborate measures they need to take to assure the USA doesn’t confiscate their remaining U.S. assets if they die in Canada…

jde 11 months agoThis is where access to alternate universes would be particularly useful. If we could simply move all these people into “Canada2”, a braneworld separated from ours by less than a millimeter in the fourth or fifth dimension, where Canada is the homeland of Ayn Rand and John Galt is Prime Minister. I suggest a crash program to develop arrangements so that everyone can migrate to the braneworld of their choice. Now THAT’S where National Science Foundation research funds ought to be applied.
