This video made me cry. Partly because I was so horrified she went through that for so long, and partly because I was so happy she had a happy ending. Firstly, how on EARTH could the neighbours have let it happen? Sure, they called people (why was nothing done?! It wasn’t mentioned and it needs to be investigated if it hasn’t already) but christ, you need to do more than that! If I saw that dog being treated that way, I’d goddamn say something. If nothing was done about it, I’d take the dog into safety myself. I’m not a morally perfect person but christ, I think most people would get the dog out of there after the authorities did nothing. Secondly, I have to say the immediate response of ‘the owners should die a painful death’ is, to me, wrong. It saddens me to read it. Wanting revenge and justice for this is natural and right, but wanting to actually KILL another human being? Really? Personally I think they’d deserve to be left outside, to shit on themselves, to be pissed on. They deserve that. They deserve pain and ridicule and, most importantly, punishment (I hope they were punished). However, immediately getting out the pitchforks and saying we should ‘track them down’ threatening to kill them isn’t the right reaction here. It just isn’t. I’m just so saddened that anyone could treat a living creature this way, but I’m grateful and happy that there are people in the world that are helping animals. I’m planning on moving soon, and to help out my local animal shelter there. It’s not world changing, but it’s something.

Why are the prior owners not in jail, charged with animal cruelty anything? Why did the animal services never take action? This is an outrage. It’s never addressed but it should really be looked into!

If I saw my neighbors doing this to their dog I would contact the ASPCA immediately, followed by the police to say I’m going to go defend that dog and kick their asses. You don’t get an animal to treat it like shit. Those people should be charged for life.

Cutting mad onions over here…that poor baby. I’m glad that couple gave her the life she deserved even if it was only for a year and a half. Her former “owners” should be brutally tortured and set on fire.

Yep- Those people NEED to die. Immediately. Sick fucks. This can and does happen in every country, people. It happens a lot more than most people realize. She deserves to spend the rest of her life being snuggled, spoiled and at peace.

I’ve worked with animals for a long time and unfortunately abuse and neglect at this level is not as uncommon as one would hope. Obviously, most of us would like to track down these people and murder them—slowly. But rather than being consumed by hate and rage, make a donation to a shelter, rescue, or vet hospital. If you don’t have money, they always need old towels and blankets…that way some long suffering animal has a warm place to sleep. Even after 10yrs.

I am a dog owner. Wow, okay, I am not one to easily cry but that really got me. I am happy to hear that she was able to enjoy the last few months of her life with loving owners after that rescue. I am happy there are people out there like that.
