joeb11 2 years agoBurnRed brings up an interesting grammatical conundrum. Apparently, the plural of Lego is… Lego? One can’t use “Legos” as a plural? This is news to me. I understand with building material, nouns aren’t normally pluralized. (Examples: wood, plastic, concrete.) But it seems to me that “Legos” are tiny, individual pieces and are thus a natural for pluralization. If you built a house out of toothpicks, you wouldn’t say, “I built a house of toothpick.” That would sound odd. It seems like the same philosophy would apply to Lego/Legos. Besides, if there is no plural for “Lego,” then millions of children have been getting it wrong for decades. Possible compromise: Legi?
