People bringing up the Bush-chimp pictures should perhaps try to remember that black people were systematically dehumanized for two centuries by using that particular image, and white people were not. It’s not a double-standard, it’s context-specific.

I really wish somebody could explain this mentality to me. “Let’s go online and insult the conservatives! That’ll show ‘em we’re smart, rational people!” I’m all for debate, but hurling vulgar insults at people just because of their views doesn’t get us anywhere. It just makes us all look stupid. Please, for everybody’s sake. Watch the news. Form your own opinions. Don’t just jump on the hate bandwagon because it’s what everybody else is doing.

I find it annoying how buzzfeed spoils its awesomeness by putting in political crap into the main page. I am a liberal, and I know buzzfeed are butt buddies with HuffPo, but you seriously are alienating Republicans on this site. Its very frustrating.

Everyone knows statists tend to be more racist than people who prefer liberty. That said, this stupid and tasteless picture is pretty tame compared to the overwhelming number of hateful and bigoted pictures, slogans, videos, etc that the left made degrading President Bush. Is this really the best you can come up with to smear an entire movement of patriots who prefer individual liberty to tyranny? Lame.

It just so happens that the world follows American politics with a fervor that’s pretty hard to match, but if you look into other systems, there are a bunch of corrupt idiots in them as well.  Context matters, and in the U.S. this message is very clear. No American would ever make this comparison without the historical baggage that it carries with it. Maybe you don’t understand that because you’re apparently not American, but the message is clear to everyone here.
