This is super sweet, but these couples aren’t married *just* yet — Washington has a three-day waiting period between licensing and the actual ceremony, BUT there will be a mass wedding at Seattle’s City Hall on Sunday the 9th and many other unions taking place elsewhere around the state. For a lot of these couples, their “wedding” on Sunday will actually be a re-commitment, as many of them already had the ceremony years ago and were registered as domestic partners (WA’s former separate-but-equal compromise for same-sex couples). The law is just finally catching up to their love.
