I was a Field Organizer for the Obama Campaign, and I can confirm everything in this story. They promised us tickets to the inauguration, swearing in, the ball, everything. We never got a confirmation from the PIC so up until now, they were just rumors. We decided not to book our tickets until we got actual confirmation from the PIC. Not until about two weeks ago did I get my “official invitation”. I am currently unemployed (other than an internship), and I do not have the $1,000 it would cost to go to DC to attend these amazing events. If they had confirmed these rumors months ago, I would be on my way to DC right now. I am so disappointed with the PIC and I agree that they don’t account for everyone that doesn’t live in the DC area, which is MOST OF US!!! Sad.
