Wild Turkey Roosts On Manhattan Fire Escape
In Washington Heights, two blocks from my apartment! It has since safely flown the coop.
The gobbler first showed up about a week ago on West 183rd Street and Pinehurst Avenue, two stories up. It haughtily faced away from onlookers, sticking its tail feathers in their gawking faces.
It stayed for about three days before leaving as mysteriously as it arrived, according to DNAinfo.com.
Sometimes, I still love this city.
