I gotta go with #1, since they gave us two errors in one. Of course, Buzzfeed calling out others for spelling and grammar errors is mind-boggling. Anyone notice the use of “dumbest” in the headline rather than the correct “dumber” (when comparing two items)? Ouch!
In defense of the one from my home state, thongs are not limited to sexy panties -
thong - noun \ˈthȯŋ\
1: a strip especially of leather or hide
2: a sandal held on the foot by a thong fitting between the toes and connected to a strap across the top or around the sides of the foot
3: an article of swimwear or underwear consisting of a narrow strip of material that passes between the thighs and connects with a waistband
Calling either of these stupid is implying that English orthography is simplistic— like, making mistakes isn’t understandable. Spelling mistakes aren’t stupid, English is stupid.
If the thongs are new, I’m fine with that. If they’re used, I’d rather reach into the “tongues” display than take my chances with butt bread.
