The World’s First Car Ad
From an 1898 “Scientific American.” Cost? $1,000. Which equals about $25,000 in 2012 money.
The first Winton motor carriage was purchased on March 24th, 1898, according to Wikipedia. Winton sold 22 cars that year.
Nice headline. I imagine that thing moving at 20 mph would have been pretty scary.

MARSHALL FOX 10 months agoActually, the oldest “Car Ad” was discovered in a complex of caves in Lascaux, in southwestern France. This Paleolithic painted inducement read: BUY NEW STONE-DISK-FOOT-WOOD-AXEL! ALL ELSE POSITIVELY PRIMORDIAL!
