The video, which just surfaced on YouTube this week, was created by British artist Katerina Jebb as part of an ongoing parody endorsement series sponsored by Comme des Garçons Parfum called Simulacrum and Hyperbole. Via Jebb's website:
In creating an imaginary TV channel Lucid TV, the viewer is offered parody endorsements...where actresses sell themselves with feeble sincerity. In Mind and Soul Control we are reassured, “It’s not you that’s the problem, it’s your life.” The artist grasps the medium of television advertising and feeds it back in to itself within the context of reality.
Other women starring in the series include: Tilda Swinton, Kristin Scott Thomas, Arielle Dombasle, Betony Vernon, Florence Thomassin, and Isabelle Townsend.
