This is exactly how not to do a celebrity endorsement ad.
It makes Aniston look stupid.
It makes Sky Broadband look stupid.
It makes me feel stupid for watching it.
The scene is not funny. The writing is not funny. And there’s no rational connection between Aniston and the product. It’s just another “hey, let’s use a celebrity to sell our product because people like celebrities” commercial.
But, that’s not Aniston’s fault.
Back in the late August, Sky started this new celeb campaign with Bruce Willis.
At least in that spot (link), the scenario of Willis watching his own Diehard movies tied to the selling point somewhat.
