It's finally happened, people. Twitter has hit the criminal justice system. A tech-savvy (and kind of sadistic) judge in Mississippi is making news for his unusual decision to force a paroled convict to tweet every ten minutes as a way of updating his parole officer of his whereabouts. It's tough to know who's being punished more - the convict or whoever's following him.

This unpleasant creature - called a Hop Bug (humanus lupalus) - has just been discovered, along with its brethren, amid the hop farms of Ireland, which means that Guinness may have to shift all production to Nigeria. If this crisis continues, the entire hop crop could be destroyed. If you've noticed that your Guinness is a little bit less creamy lately, you could be drinking bug stout.

Irish alleged Assassin used Facebook to talk about his 'hobby' of shooting. He and his Facebook friend were shot dead in a downtown Bolivian, Santa Cruz hotel on Thursday 16th April. Facebook ‘Gun For Hire’ Michael Dwyer, alleged Bolivian Presidential Assassin used his Facebook and Bebo profile to talk about his ‘habit’ of shooting, and dressing up in Military Fatigues. Dwyer, who is accused by the Bolivian Government and Police of being involved in an assassination attempt of Evo Morales, was shot dead in a shoot out at a downtown Bolivian Hotel, where his Facebook friend, Eduardo Rozsa Flores (49) was also killed. Flores was Bolivian/Hungarian and was Commander of a Balkan Brigade in 1991 during the war there. Dwyer, 24, was a graduate of Galway Institute of Technology. His favourite television show according to his FaceBook profile was The Unit, an American drama based on a top-secret counter-terrorism military unit. Recently he had uploaded hundreds of photographs entitled “hols” showing him and unidentified friends socialising in high spirits in what is believed to be Bolivia. There are also several albums of pictures taken in Ireland. Interpol are believed to be interested in helping to solve the mystery as to why an Irish man who has worked as a night club security, or bouncer, might have been involved in a Presidential Assassination attempt.

A sample of the deadly Anthrax virus was stolen yesterday from the Science Gallery in Dublin. The stolen Anthrax Bacillus is the same viral agent used by bioterrorists in the US in the 2001 attacks, which caused panic around the world. It was being exhibited as part of an exhibition called “Infectious” at Dublin's Science Gallery and shockingly the public were allowed unrestricted access to the deadly spores. A spokesperson for the gallery claimed “The sample was absolutely safe. It was a microscope slide and the public are not at risk”. However Anthrax spores are notoriously hard to kill and experts have expressed concern. The Science Gallery has been sealed off while the crime is investigated and people in biohazard suits have been observed entering the space.
