1. Strategic slipper placement.
Leave your slippers right at your bedside for pleasant, warm feet to start your day.
2. Preset coffee.
Preset your coffee maker the night before to wake up to the sweet smell of coffee and a hot cup. If only we could do the same with bacon…
3. Batter up.
If you’re a pancake or waffle person (and if you’re not, then why even wake up in the morning?), prepare your batter the night before. Store it overnight in a pitcher in the refrigerator for easy pouring in the morning.
4. Life soundtrack.
Put together a playlist that matches your morning routine. “‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ just finished, I guess that means I should finish up my shower!”
5. Hit the gym.
It sounds crazy, but you might just like it.
6. Strategic alarm placement.
Sure, there are alarms that you have to track down or even smile at to turn off, but you don’t need them. Just make sure your alarm is further than an arm reach away, and preferably between you and the door.
7. Paper time.
Build in some extra time to read the paper. Then you’ll have something smart to talk about with all of your office mates.
Or if reading’s not your thing, tune in to New Day on CNN to stay relevant in your cuberhood.
9. Ice bath.
Well, it doesn’t actually have to be an ice bath, but a cold shower will definitely help wake you up in the morning.
Not sure how? Just stare at this ball for a while and breathe slowly. And don’t fall asleep.
11. Sleep well.
Make sure you get your eight hours in, and figure out exactly when you should be waking up.
12. And stop hitting the snooze button.
Just. Don’t. Do. It.
