Actually Josh, according to the Kaiser Foundation (linked to the healthcare giant), Mississippi has 5 abortions per 1000 women, well below the national average of 15 (Texas has 15). In Mississippi, 17% of those are for girls 19 or younger, which is the national average (FYI Texas is 13%). Of course these are reported numbers, and abortions are notoriously underreported. But just illustrating that our “gut feel” about some things is not necessarily accurate. (Take, for instance, the last 8 years of this country's leadership…)
