10 Overlooked Husband Worthy Athletes: NBA Edition

Athletes are seen in this special light as gods of sports, but they’re normal people like us. They just happen to be insanely talented at their respective sports.

The things athletes do off the court are disregarded as part of who they really are. I decided to look into arrest records, charities they work with, their athletic ability and obviously looks to decide which athletes are being overlooked as "husband-worthy".

1. Blake Griffin

LA Clippers #32

Born: March 16, 1989 (age 25)

College: University of Oklahoma

Salary 2014: 17.67 Million USD

Other than the fact that this half African American half white perfect mix of a man is an insane basketball player, Griffin has also shown interest in comedy. While he’s still a youngin’ at just 25 years old, Griffin has already started a fundraiser called Dunking for Dollars. Every time this sexy stud makes a dunk during the NBA season, he donates $100 towards childhood obesity. So attractive, athletic, funny and charitable, totally husband worthy.

2. Dwayne Wade

College: Marquette College

Salary 2014: 18.67 Million USD

Since D-Wade just married the lovely Gabrielle Union in 2014, he clearly belongs on this list. He has three beautiful children and shows his support for the city of Miami every chance he gets. I mean, the Dade County is famously called Wade County in this man’s honor. He runs the Wade’s World Foundation, which provides support for community-based organizations that promote education, health and social skills for children in at-risk situations. He also shows interests in fashion, rocking a seriously impressive sneaker collection to every game.

3. Chris Paul

Are we ready for this? Chris Paul loves bowling and actually owns a franchise in the Professional Bowling Association League. Who would’ve guessed?! He is also known for being super charitable, winning the NBA’s Community Assist Award two years in a row. You may also recognize him from his State Farm commercials with his “twin” Cliff Paul. He’s a well-rounded guy with a smile that can be seen for miles. How could a person not fall for this guy?

4. Kevin Love

This 26-year-old power forward has been showing his skills this season on and off the court. Love is easy on the eyes and his last name suits him perfectly. In 2009, he became the first NBA player to join the Hoops for St. Jude charity program benefitting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It’s hard not to love Kevin Love.

5. Russell Westbrook

Westbrook is known for his outlandish style off the court, even being called a fashion icon. He launched a clothing line with Barneys called Westbrook XO, and who doesn’t love Barneys, am I right?
