10 Things You'll See At Your First Triathlon

I just did my second sprint triathlon this past weekend, and while I was there I realized the events/crowd around me were definitely...... unique.

1. You've seen half the cast of Star Wars during the bike

IT'S A TRAP.... with new technology surrounding bike helmets and aerodynamics it can make a new racer feel as if he is Luke Skywalker flying through the Death Star

2. The wanna-be Skrillex/ecstatic PA Announcer

This a well full of false motivation and over-used cliches (maybe the YouTube link doesn't match but it's still funny)

3. The Lost Newbie

The "Hey we're glad we didn't have to use the waiver you signed" medal, so here's a token of our appreciation... also notice the PA announcer in the background of the video

6. The Almost-Pro

This guy/girl will be the cause of many double takes due to their superior physique/spartan-like demeanor, but at the end of the day if you're in the same race as them you're just as elite

7. On-set for the next Planet of the Apes

With the number of bananas at the finish-line there might be enough to feed all the extra chimps involved in the filming of the Planet of the Apes

8. The Annoyed Teen Volunteer

Probably forced to attend by his/her high school service club and desperately needs hours, so they can put it on their college application that they graduated in that club

9. The Doomsday Prepper

This triathlete brings all belongings/small children to the transition area "just in case" they need it for the race

10. A sense of accomplishment

After all you just completed around what 1% of Americans do each year... and hey even Drake is proud of you
