those aliens could be female.
Claire’s parents might not have been able to hear her concert, but she made…
those aliens could be female.
that video game however. is down right disgusting and i have no idea how something like that would be passed into the general public.
It actually has a lot to do with if it is on purpose or not. Racism is the hatred/intolerance of another race or that the idea of your race is better than another’s. In no way are these videos showing that. If anything they are highlighting beautiful aspects of Native Americans. Not only are they showing headdress in that video but art repurposed for today’s culture. Bringing that over in today’s time to highlight its beauty. Yes, I will agree that they are being ignorant. But in no way are the being racist. That word is thrown around so easily that it is sickening.
So you are telling me that you believe everyone in the film industry is racist? Wow thats intense. you can’t just lump everyone together like that. It is rude and insensitive just like how you are basically telling me that these people in the video are being rude and insensitive.
Are you speaking for your family when you say that “we” have been complaining about these insensitive outfits for years? Because I am just going to throw this out there but when someone tries to speak for every tribe/nation it is rude and insensitive. I was reading and there is a part native American on the Facebook part of this thread who said they didn’t find this racist at all. Which points me to believe that not everyone that is Native American will find this racist and you cant just say that none of them understand. You cant just outright believe that everyone is ignorant. Also, if this bothers you so much why not start some sort of campaign about it? Saying you dislike something for years on a thread wont get you anywhere unless you really act upon it.
Black face was used to purposely degrate afircan americans. How is this pruposely trying to degrate Native Americans? I am sorry I just dont see these people trying to shit on anyone or hurt anyone. If anything it sounds like most of the people on here are looking for a fight and never really thought about talking to the associations doing this and why they are doing it.
The image itself is stupid. who is to say that the women wearing the headress had ancestors who killed Native Americans? Its rude to assume such a thing.
in no way was he speaking on behalf of all native americans. He is just stating what he thinks and how he might have a better understanding seeing as he is part native american. and its RUDE AS FUCK as you put it to dismiss him.
how is it racist to wear head feather and pretend to be something you are not? We might as well say that all actors are racist then… it is however racist to degrate a culture on purpose while pretending to be them.
Courtneynatch - it only makes you shockingly dumb to call someone the same thing. She has some points there. it is rude to diregard all aspects of her argument just to pull out one thing she said and to blast her for it. Zombiegirl12- Firs I wanted to say that it is rude to say skinny little white girl. Also, who is to say that this persons ancestors are white settlers to begin with? All cultures have assimilated aspects of different cultures into their lives. And to say they don’t have the right to is crazy. How bout I tell you that you can wear the white settlers clothes anymore? For all you know it could be offensive to them. just because someone does something like wear a headdress from another culture doesn’t mean they are disrespecting it. It is rude to assume such a thing. Also to assume that someone is racist. I am not an ancestor of any white settler so please don’t tell me I do not know what I am talking about. My Mother was born in Africa and my Father the Azores. Both of which have very deep cultures with traditional clothing. If my parents or I were to see any of this. We wouldn’t be calling that person racist. If anything we would get excited by the fact that someone finds our past beautiful enough to wear upon their bodies.
